Learn how to guide treatment to be more effective especially in time-sensitive formats through the use of goal building conversations. Through lecture, demonstration and experiential exercises learn tools that tap into client’s agency and strengths to mobilize change quickly. Research on therapeutic efficacy and positive outcomes, tools from collaborative approaches like solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing, and clinical applications of positive psychology and self-efficacy theory will be introduced to demonstrate how to host conversations that outline well-formed goals and promote progress from the first session.
