At least 50% of all individuals struggling with an addiction disorder also have an eating disorder. Participants of this training will learn how to identify individuals experiencing dual diagnosis of chemical dependency and an eating disorder. Treatment approaches to addiction and eating disorders will be taught and demonstrated to participants.
Emma Mcmanus, PsyD,
is in private practice in Sacramento, Sierra Treatment Center of Sacramento. She specializes in both eating disorder and addiction. Dr. McManus is highly involved in the community as a community partner with other facilities and universities. She often speaks as an expert on eating disorders and addiction at various universities and community programs. She is a University of California Davis committee member and Community Partner for the university's Association for Body Image Disordered Eating (ABIDE) committee.
