Although most mental health approaches have traditionally aimed to “fix what’s wrong,” the newer subfield of positive psychology instead helps us to “build what’s strong.” In doing so, we can help buffer patients against a variety of mental health difficulties, and can even enhance a number of physical health outcomes. Drawing from positive psychology, mindfulness-based approaches, and cutting-edge neuroscience, this seminar will teach participants the latest in the field of happiness research and will provide the tools necessary to transform clinical practice. Through lecture, discussion, and experiential exercises, participants will learn 7 scientifically backed principles for well-being, and over 35 research-based practices to promote greater happiness.
